Born and raised in Truckee, CA, DJ grew up racing and riding motorcycles—starting on dirt bikes and eventually moving into the Harley world. That progression sparked a lifelong fascination with the mechanical side of bikes.
Before launching Slabsides, he spent nearly a decade as a pipe welder, honing precision, discipline, and attention to detail. But motorcycles have always been his passion, and opening this shop was his chance to turn that passion into a lifestyle.
Today, he brings years of hands-on riding experience, fabrication skills, and a builder’s eye to every Harley that rolls into the shop. A clean, organized workspace is a direct reflection of the work Slabsides delivers—badass, reliable motorcycles built with care, craftsmanship, and pride.
